The founders of FIMA are a collection of experienced professionals from Africa & Europe, with key expertise in various fields: Industrial Machinery Fabrication, Banking & Finance, Heavy Equipment for bulk material handling and Global Trade. The principals of the firm have a distinguished global track record supporting lighthouse projects in the environmental and agro-processing space, making FIMA the unique partner in the Sub-Saharan Africa with an coverage in Green Infrastructure, Waste Management and Agro-processing. The combination of European and African industrial experiences, cross-cultural understanding, and a global network is brought to bear on FIMA projects, ensuring sustainable success and profitable outcomes for our clients.

Our core competencies are municipal waste management, bio-fertilizer production, agro-processing, plant engineering and export financing. The firm has continued to grow strengths in other sectors that we believe are growth areas for our clients in Sub-Saharan Africa, such as construction, heavy equipment, medical waste management and industrial machinery.

FIMA is active across Sub Saharan Africa, with its head quarters in Accra, Ghana. The focus areas within the last years have been the regions of ECOWAS and the Eastern African Community.

Our Team

Markus Maierhofer

Over 15 years experience in the international trade business… Markus is working together with the Austrian recycling machinery OEM KOMPTECH for more than 15 years. He has an huge network and experience in the Global Environmental Machinery Sales space, and over the last few years has focused on business in Africa, specializing in financing solutions for products from European OEM suppliers. Before managing sales for Komptech’s Africa desk, Markus covered the territories of Eastern Europe and the Middle-East for Komptech, delivering significant recycling projects in Poland, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Lebanon, Israel and Saudi Arabia. As Head of Sales for Africa Markus has facilitated over €60mio of financing for various projects on the Continent, most notably in Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa. Markus firmly believes that Africa is the continent with the most potential for growth in the Environmental services spaces, and has worked assiduously over the last five years to realize projects for European OEM’s and it’s African Customers. Markus has an MBA from the Danube University Krems(Austria), and a BA from the University of Regensburg (Germany).

Nana Mainoo:

Nana Osei is a serial entrepreneur and with over 15 years in the Engineering sector, with specific expertise in Wastewater Treatment, Solid Waste Treatment, Water Purification and Building Services (Plumbing), and is currently based in Accra, Ghana. He was inducted as a Member of the Ghana Institute of Engineers in 2010 and established the Correct Engineering Group in 2012, a vibrant Process and Environmental Engineering Consultancy and Contracting Firm. He has worked extensively in Ghana’s environmental and construction space, and consulted on various Municipal Solid Waste recycling and Waste Water treatment projects in Cote D’Ivoire, Senegal, Nigeria and South Africa.  Nana graduated from McGill University (Montreal, Canada) earning a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, and a Master's Degree in Environmental & Bio-Resource Engineering.

EGYA-BOI AWOONOR

Egya-Boi is a Strategic Advisor and Sales Consultant. Before being appointed a Director of Correct Engineering, Egya-Boi was Head of Financial Market Sales, Financial Markets at Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Ltd. While at the Bank, Egya-Boi specialized in developing treasury sales solutions for corporate and institutional clients across the bank’s various asset classes (FX, Interest Rate and Commodities). As a key member of the Corporate Bank, Egya-Boi was involved in various Capital Markets and Structured Trade Finance transactions worth over $500 million. He has delivered several courses on Treasury Sales, Risk Management and Opportunity Identification at the Ghana National Banking College and to Ghanaian corporates. Prior to the bank, Egya-Boi was Regional Manager, Sales and Marketing (Francophone West Africa) for Phyto-Riker Pharmaceuticals where he oversaw and developed the Marketing and Sales networks of the company across various West African countries. Since 2016, under the Correct Engineering partnership with Komptech Africa, Egya-Boi has worked in delivering over EUR60 million of waste sorting and composting equipment underpinned by ECA backed financing from Germany, Austria and Slovenia.
